Hummus Ingredients

Pita Chips and Veggies

Method

Prepare the Hummus

1

Drain and Rinse Chickpeas

Open the can of chickpeas and drain the liquid. Rinse the chickpeas under cold water and set aside.

2

Blend Ingredients

In a food processor, combine the drained chickpeas, tahini, garlic, lemon juice, olive oil, ground cumin, salt, and water. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed.

3

Adjust Consistency

If the hummus is too thick, add more water, one tablespoon at a time, until the desired consistency is reached.

4

Taste and Adjust Seasoning

Taste the hummus and adjust seasoning with more salt or lemon juice if desired.

5

Garnish

Transfer the hummus to a serving bowl, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle paprika and chopped parsley on top for garnish.

Prepare the Pita Chips and Veggies

6

Preheat Oven

Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

7

Prepare Pita Chips

Cut each pita bread into 8 triangles. Place them on a baking sheet, brush with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt.

8

Bake Pita Chips

Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

9

Prepare Veggies

While the pita chips are baking, wash and cut the carrots, cucumbers, and bell peppers into sticks or slices.
