Method

Prepare Burger Patties

1

In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until well combined, but do not overwork the meat to keep it tender.

2

Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into burger patties, about 1/2 inch thick.

Cook the Burgers

3

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Once hot, place the burger patties on the grill or skillet.

4

Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on one side until browned. Flip the patties and cook for another 2-3 minutes.

5

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty to melt.

Assemble the Cheeseburgers

6

Toast the hamburger buns lightly on the grill or in a toaster until golden brown.

7

Spread ketchup and mustard on the bottom half of each bun.

8

Place the cooked burger patty with melted cheese on top of the condiments.

9

Layer with pickles, lettuce, and tomato slices.

10

Top with the other half of the bun. Serve immediately.
