Prepare the Mackerel

Clean the mackerel fillets under cold water and pat dry with a paper towel. Slice them thinly against the grain.

Prepare the Vegetables

Thinly slice the cucumber and jalapeño. If desired, remove the seeds from the jalapeño for less heat.

Combine Ingredients

In a bowl, mix the sliced mackerel, cucumber, jalapeño, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Toss gently to combine.

Plate the Dish

Serve the mixture on a chilled plate. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
